Learn and develop valuable skills enabling you to represent your fellow students.

Training & Support

We know that effective representatives are trained not born, so the Students' Union provides full training and support for all Course Reps. As a course rep you will learn and develop valuable skills enabling you to represent your fellow students, as well as improving your employability.

After you attend a training session, you’ll be sent all the resources you need. If you have any ideas on skills you’d like to learn and potential sessions we could run, get in touch with us and let us know.

Alongside our introductory Effective Representation training, we have previously offered training on chairing and facilitating meetings for SSLC student co-chairs and minute taking training.

Library Services also offer resources for ideas on how course reps can incorporate academic skills into their support for other students. Find out more here.

In order to qualify for a Course Rep Contribution Award, all Course Reps must attend a Course Rep Training session. If in the event a rep cannot attend, please email su-coursereps@qmul.ac.uk.
