Queen Mary Students’ Union are a democratic membership-led charity that exists to improve students’ lives. You will support this mission by leading and managing the Student Engagement Team, which facilitates a wide range of extracurricular activities that play a pivotal role in our ambition to support meaningful connections between students.
The Students’ Union supports over 28,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary University of London.
We are looking for someone who can improve the experience of our students and develop the team. You’ll need experience of planning, delivering, and evaluating projects and of managing staff. The role and team are student facing, so it’s essential you are positive and passionate about working with students and have a good understanding of their needs, as well as legislation relevant to student activities in higher education.
The team supports over 300 student-led groups (including societies, volunteering groups and student media outlets), student-led charity fundraising and community volunteering opportunities for students. The team also lead on employability, student engagement in sustainability initiatives and work to improve the sustainability of our operations. This includes some community building events such awards and fairs, as well as a Calander of skills development opportunities for students. You will manage and support the team to ensure our student led activities are engaging, impactful and safe and our processes are efficient.
The post is a full time (35 hours per week) permanent position. Starting salary will be £39,065 per annum pro-rata, inclusive of London Allowance and raises 1 point annually as set out in the QMUL Pay and Grading Structure.
