QMSU notes:
  1. The Union holds a Fair on the Whitechapel campus at the start of every academic year where BLSA student groups can promote themselves to new and returning students
  2. The Union also held a Welcome Back Fair in January 2015, where BLSA student groups could promote themselves to returning students.
  3. That stall allocations for student groups at these Fairs were managed by Union Staff, with some consultation with students.
  4. That stall allocations for the Freshers’ Fayre in the academic year 2013/14 were managed by the Barts and The London Students’ Association President (Vice President Barts and The London) in conjunction with Part-time Officers

QMSU believes:
  1. Elected student representatives best understand the needs of the students and student groups they represent.
  2. That Barts and The London Students’ Association elected representatives best understand the needs of Barts and The London students and student groups.
  3. That Barts and The London Students’ Association Officers are best able to satisfy student and student group needs in relation to Welcome/Welcome Back Fairs on the Whitechapel campus.
  4. That Union staff are useful in providing advice and support to elected representatives in carrying out their roles.

QMSU resolves:

That stall allocations for any Welcome or Welcome Back type-Fairs on the Whitechapel campus should be managed by the BLSA President (Vice President Barts and The London), with assistance from relevant Part-time Officers and Union Staff.
