What do you want?

I want the the Barts and The London Students’ Association President/VP Barts and The London to be in attendance on Queen Mary University of London’s College Council alongside the Queen Mary Students’ Union President who is a member of council.

Why do you want it?

Queen Mary has a number of campuses, the Barts and The London Students’ Association President/VP Barts and The London is predominantly responsible for representing students who study on the Whitechapel, Charterhouse, West Smithfield and Gozo Campus. These sites are often overlooked in meetings and therefore I believe an executive officer who is directly involved in representing these students should sit in attendance on Queen Mary University of London’s College Council. Further to this these are sites in which the future landscape is being shaped and I believe the student voice needs to be at the front of discussions regarding campus security, student wellbeing and engagement.

What impact will this have?

A student voice for those studying on the Whitechapel, Charterhouse, West Smithfield and Gozo Campus on College Council. If there are matters arising on the agenda that would involve the work of other members of the executive team the Student Union President will request for the relevant executive member to be present during the discussion of that item.
