Queen Mary Students’ Union is a democratic membership organisation that is the voice of all Queen Mary students. The Students' Union ensures that the University and the wider community are listening to what students want and works to improve students’ lives.

The Students’ Union has around 150 student staff working across the Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square campuses in many different commercial outlets and departments. Our student staff are the focal point of the organisation, and they play a key part in delivering an excellent service to all our members!

How do I apply?

A full list of current opportunities will be listed below under Job Listings.

To apply for a role, you will need to click on the application form link for the job you are interested in applying to. You'll then be asked to log in to the QMSU website so you need to create an account or sign in with your student account.

Once logged in, you can start to complete the online application form. You'll be able to save the application form and come back to it but once it's submitted you will not be able to make any changes. Once the deadline has closed you will not be able to submit an application, so do make sure you submit before the deadline.

Location of jobs: Student staff roles are based in our outlets, offices and beyond! Locations include the Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square Campuses.

    • Reward and Recognition Intern

      Salary:  £14.98 per hour (plus 19.27% holiday pay)

      Details:We’re looking for a current Queen Mary student to become our Reward and Recognition Intern who will support the Student Engagement Team to best improve reward and recognition for students involved in relevant activities, curate positive website articles and social media posts about the work of student group committees, run social events for student group leaders, improve the Student Engagement Team’s social media and more!

      Details:We’re looking for a current Queen Mary student to become our Sustainability and Volunteering Intern within our Volunteering team. You would work on sustainability initiatives such as Big Green Canal Cleans, re-use fairs, welcome fair and more and support the wider volunteering programme as well. You will improve students’ understanding of volunteering and sustainability within the SU and engage with students via email, social media and in person.

      Details:We’re looking for proactive, sociable people to join our Venues and Events team. Our department is the heart of QMSU’s student events, with the role covering Bar service, Kitchen service, Barista service and Events. Successful candidates will work in all areas as venues team members serving customers on the bar, floor, door and cloakroom and preparing food in the kitchen as well as providing hospitality across all our campuses. You'll also gain amazing training and experience in hospitality too!

      Details:Do you want to have a lasting impact on the experience of thousands of Queen Mary students?
