What we offer:
Social tennis: is for people who simply want to have a little bit of fun playing tennis. It is ideally suited for people who are beginners (just started playing/ played for a few months). We provide you with courts booked for 2 hours a week, tennis balls and amateur coaches. It is up to you whether you want to improve or just play for fun. There will be committee members/ competitive team players that will be around to teach you correct techniques if you want any help. All you need to have is a tennis racket.
Intermediate tennis: is suited for people who have played for a few years and are looking to improve their level. This team is not selective, meaning anyone can join, however, if you are still a beginner please join the social tennis team. For this team, we are looking to work on perfecting your shots, your tecnhique, your footwork, and other elements of tennis. You will train for 2 hours a week, you will have opportunities to play in matches aginst other universities and maybe even move up to the competitive team.
Competitive team: is suited for people who have been playing for many years and have played competitively at some point. The competitive team is selective, meaning you will have to be picked to be part of this team. We train 2 hours a week and we play many matches at a high level. We train with a professional coach who guides us and gives us advice on what to work on and how to improve.
A little information about our society!
A highly competitive and social club aiming to balance hard work and fun through teamwork and professionalism.
Our goal is to make the team better year after year with the help of its teammates and our coach James Barry.
The objective is to maintain the same level of competition within the club and improve both in and outside the courts.
We are always looking for new and better players willing to work with us and willing to help improve the team.
We are now looking to bolster and improve both our men's and women's teams with competitive, athletic and skilled new players who are hungry for success and fun.
We have an awesome social element to the club with regular drinks, events and dinners but we strive to improve. In fact this year we are integrating the Intermediate and Social team with the Competitive teams in order to create more social opportunities for all the teammates. Not to mention monthly Hail Mary Events which are always loads of fun!
