Bioinformatics Society unites students/researchers at the intersection of medicine & CS, fostering collaboration, skill-building, and networking.
The Bioinformatics Society aims to foster a collaborative and innovative environment for students and researchers interested in bioinformatics, computational biology, and related fields. The society will serve as a platform to help introduce and explore this niche and up-and-coming interdisciplinary field which sits at the intersection of medical research and computer science. It therefore offers a unique opportunity for students and academics from various disciplines to engage and learn about its pioneering and innovative applications. By uniting such like-minded individuals the society will facilitate knowledge sharing, skill building, and networking opportunities. Our 3 main aims:
1) Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among students from diverse backgrounds to share knowledge, resources, and expertise in computational biology and bioinformatics tools, raising awareness of this field and unveiling new career avenues for students/members.
2) Provide and enhance skills and education in bioinformatics through seminars, workshops, and hands-on projects that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, offering members valuable experience.
3) Facilitate networking and career opportunities by creating a platform for members/students to connect with industry professionals, researchers, and alumni in the bioinformatics course from QMUL.
