Queen Mary University Mens Basketball Club offers students at Queen Mary the opportunity to play basketball at many different levels. Everyone will play basketball in either competitive and/or recreational teams.
There will be two teams of around 40-50 players, from which around 12 players will be selected to play both BUCS and LUSL games at a time, and there will be multiple tournaments, friendlies and extra games to play in throughout the year. We ideally would like to ensure every team player gets good minutes in at least 10 games (barring injury) the rotations and lineups may change weekly. All team members will also have the opportunities play in the Social League, where many of our club teams have won the league vs Barts, QMUL Staff Team, ACS, CSSA, SEMS.
We want everyone to feel welcome and have fun in the club; therefore, we will organize many social events throughout the year and exploit every opportunity to play some ball.
We are confident in getting promoted in both BUCS and LUSL leagues. We want our teams to perform well and win the Sports League in both semesters. We want to continue our positive streak in beating Barts’ team at Merger Cup.
Moreover, members can obtain coaching and umpire qualifications through the SU, the opportunity to watch Basketball England games throughout the season, and finally, volunteer during sporting events.
