The official branch of The UltraLearn Project at Barts and The London!
Our mission is to setup and support student-led societies for POCUS learning and education in medical schools across the UK. Although POCUS has been integrated formally into many medical schools this has been limited by staffing, resource allocation and sustainability issues. We believe that the future of medical education involves increased student-to-student teaching, and UltraLearn aims to be at the forefront of implementing this strategy to work alongside formal POCUS education in undergraduate medical education.
UltraLearn has developed an expertly reviewed, innovative set of learning material designed to enhance medical students’ knowledge of anatomy, physiology, image acquisition skills but most importantly confidence in POCUS through a near-peer format. We are piloting our project at separate University sites, where several cohorts of students are now receiving training from our near-peer POCUS teaching series, with clinicians and faculty providing essential supervision.
Students at our University sites have the exciting opportunity to be a part of this nationwide initiative, by learning and eventually teaching POCUS to their peers, under the supervision of experts and clinicians.
[This is not accredited teaching, but sessions are supported by experts and clinicians where possible]
