An extremely warm welcome to QMBL Pole Fitness! We are a society set up to give you the opportunity to experience one of the latest fitness crazes: pole dancing. Not only does this sport give you a full-body workout whilst improving flexibility and endurance, but you will also become part of a truly supportive and inspirational community which welcomes everyone of all ages, body types, fitness levels, and genders.
We are pleased to announce that we will be continuing to offer in-person classes at London Dance Academy this academic year (2024/25). These classes are not taught by committee members, but by very qualified, excellent pole instructors. Each class our society organises costs £10, which means a massive saving as each class booked directly through LDA is around £20! Their studio is located close to Old Street Station, so only about a 30 minute journey from Mile End campus!
Our first week of classes will all be Taster Sessions. We recommend these to people who have never done pole before as they are complete beginner classes.
Here is the date for the final Taster Session (held at LDA)
Taster Session 4: Wednesday the 9th of October, 17:00-18:00

Some important things to remember about classes at LDA
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the class starts.
- Yoga mats are provided by LDA, but you can bring your own if you prefer.
- There are no changing rooms or showers at LDA, but there are toilets on site. Most students come wearing their training gear or have it on underneath other clothing so they are ready to enter the studio straight away.
- BEGINNERS: It is highly recommendable that you wear clothing that allows your underarms and inner thighs to make contact with the pole. A short-sleeved t-shirt/vest/cami-top and shorts would be OK for starting out.
- Class capacity: Full capacity is 12 students to a studio, so it's important to book early to avoid disappointment.
- VERY IMPORTANT: Do not apply any body lotions or hand creams before coming to class as this will prevent you from being able to grip the pole.
- Grip aids are allowed to be used in class provided they are not resin based as they leave a sticky residue on the pole.
Along with offering in-person pole classes for beginners as well as more advanced members, we will be organising fun socials throughout the academic year. We also aim to compete in London Pole Varsity 2025! Please follow our Instagram page to keep updated with all of our events and any new changes.
