Garrod Building

The Griff

Located on the ground floor of the Garrod Building. The Griff is our student space serving delicious coffee, food and alcohol-free drinks by day. In the evenings the space serves a range of drinks (including beers, wines & spirits), pizzas and loaded fries. It's also home to many events including a weekly club night, live music and quiz nights.

Easter Vacation Period Opening Times (14th to 25th April): Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Closed Good Friday (18th April) and Easter Monday Bank Holiday (21st April)

Old Library

Located on the ground floor of the Garrod Building. The Old Library is our stunning student space perfect for studying, socialising and group meetings with friends and coursemates. The space has comfy seating, private booths and study desks and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Welcome Desk

The Students' Union Welcome Desk is a pop-up service operating every weekday from 11:30am-1:30pm, and also in the evening on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 5pm-7pm. Come and ask any questions you have about Students' Union services and speak to someone directly from our different services. The Drop-In timetable can be viewed here.

Fitness Suite

The Fitness Suite provides a free bookable workout space for Sports Clubs to use. The room is equipped with rowing machines, cardio equipment and stretch areas. It's also home to some of our Get Active sessions. Please contact our Reception team on su-qmsu.reception@qmul.ac.uk if you'd like to use the space.

Multi-Faith Centre

The Multi-Faith Centre is located on the 3rd floor of the Garrod Building. The Centre is a space open to all students and staff for quiet reflection, contemplation and prayer. Full ablution facilities are also available. The space is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Recovery Rooms

The Recovery Rooms are located on the 2nd floor of the Garrod Building and is a great space to relax and socialise. There's a student kitchen with free to use microwaves, hot water tap, fridge, plates and cutlery. There's also comfy seating, games and screens so you can catch-up with friends or put your feet up. The space is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Food Pantry

The Garrod Food Pantry is an emergency service open to all Queen Mary students in need of short-term food assistance.
