About this event

What is 'Trial By Jury'?

'Trial By Jury' is a one-act-long comic operetta (or, a dramatic cantata) by Gilbert and Sullivan, centering around a bride who sues her ex-fiancee for jilting her. The proceedings end up a mess, and frustrated with how things are going, the judge decides to throw the case out and marry the plaintiff instead.

Our Society:

The Savoy Opera Society is a society based around appreciating and performing Savoy comedy operettas written and composed by the Victorian duo, ‘Gilbert and Sullivan’. Our goal is to bring together fans of their operettas, opera or musical theatre in general, or simply people who want to improve their singing/musical skills in a fun way!
