Legally Blonde: the Musical is the dynamic, witty, and heartwarming stage adaptation of 2001’s Legally Blonde. We follow Elle Woods as she drops the Malibu socialite lifestyle in favour of a law degree at Harvard, all to follow her one true love, Warner Hunnington III… who had just dumped her.
Legally Blonde is a story about what it means to ‘fit in’ and reminds us that the only thing that limits us is our drive to succeed. With that in mind, I took the plunge to direct QMTC’s 2024 winter musical, and found, like Elle, that the most meaningful challenges we encounter are those we never knew we had to face. In directing this wonderful bunch of people I have come to newfound reflections on confidence, belonging, and even sisterhood, all thanks to the brilliant cast I got to work with.
I do hope you enjoy our production. Rehearsals began on the 13th October, and since then the cast and crew have given it everything to see this show through to completion. I am immensely proud of their hard work and dedication, and I will be very sad to so many of our international friends leave us at the end of the semester. The best thing about putting on a production like this is the chance to give a diverse spread of people a place to belong through a shared passion, and we are delighted to be sharing that passion with you.
