Postgrad Research Showcase (LGBTQ+ History)

Thursday 27 June 2024, 5pm - 7pm

Blomeley Rooms, Students' Union Hub
About this event

Following on from LGBTQ+ History Month in February, we're hosting talks showcasing some of the fascinating areas of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer history that our postgraduates are currently researching. This summer, we have two very exciting talks from:

Charlotte Byrne (English and Drama)– (Re)constructing Anarchist Lesbian Identities of 1930s Spain in Fiction

Kieran Stigant (History)– Reframing Gay Activism in 1960s America: the Transition to a Movement for Emotional Liberty

All postgraduates are warmly invited to attend, and the panel will be followed by a Q&A and a trip to a local pub for those who wish to join us. Sign up here to attend!
