As part of Green Week 2022, we'll be joining the Canal and River Trust for a special canal clean-up on the bed of the drained Hertford Union Canal. 

We will be meeting on campus at 9:30am before walking over to the Hertford Canal next to Victoria Park (15 minutes walk from Mile End campus). We'll be helping clear the dredged part of the Canal before it gets refilled at the end of the month. 

No need for any knowledge, please wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty and flat closed toe shoes as well as bringing any lunch or snacks you would like. This opportunity will involve walking along the canal bed with supervision from the team at Canal and Rive Trust.  Waders will be provided so please let us know your shoe size. 

There are only 10 places available so please email Tom on t.stockton@qmul.ac.uk to sign-up. Volunteering will last from 10am-2pm but if you can't make the full time let us know, however you will need to be available for the start to attend a safety briefing.
