Join us for this special one-off class at Qmotion. This one-hour relaxing session led by Lindsay Markovits is a grounding sound bath that helps to soothe the nervous system and rejuvenate the spirit.
The session will open with a short, guided meditation to help you connect to the present moment and prepare you to receive the therapeutic sounds.
Please bring a blanket and a cushion and wear comfortable clothing.
This is an opportunity to carve out a little space to drop any to-do lists or expectations of yourself, and land back in the present moment. A holistic hour to nourish body, mind, and spirit.
About Sound Baths
Sound healing is a therapeutic modality that triggers deep relaxation through brainwave entrainment, guiding participants from a beta (busy, thinking, planning) into an alpha/theta (calm, meditative, dreamy) state. The many benefits of sound baths include stress relief, improved sleep, reduction of pain, and release of difficult emotions.
During a sound bath, you’ll be invited to lie on a yoga mat on the floor with a pillow and blanket to keep warm (although you can sit, if lying down is uncomfortable). A qualified sound practitioner will play various sound healing instruments, sometimes over your body so the vibrations can be received on a deep cellular level, guiding you into a state of relaxation and peacefulness. You don’t need to do anything other than listen to the flow of sounds, rest, or sleep. The instruments used can include hand-held drums, gongs, tongue drums, Koshi chimes, rattles, Tibetan singing bowls and crystal singing bowls. These are played sometimes as solo instruments or in unison, interspersed with moments of silence to provoke inner transformation.
