Our Volunteering Champions are running a winter clothes donation drive for Whitechapel Mission, a local shelter supporting those experiencing homelessness with warm clothes, food, and specialist programmes to learn life skills and employability skills.
You can donate winter clothes at the Students' Union Hub Reception on the Mile End campus, and at the Griff Inn or the Recovery Room at the Garrod Building on the Whitechapel campus. Clothes can be donated from Monday the 10th - Friday the 14th of February. Any item of clothing that's clean and in good condition is really appreciated!
According to a page on Whitechapel Mission's website on donations they are particularly looking for, they look for donations of:
- Clothing - New or Clean and gently used clothing of all types is helpful. We are always in need of mens underwear/t-shirts and socks, new and gently used jeans and shoes, and professional clothing for those looking for work or re-entering the workforce. In the winter, we are especially in need of warm outerwear: coats, jackets, hats, gloves, and scarves.
