They are also responsible for supporting the Vice President Communities, liaising with members of the relevant clubs, societies and student groups and encouraging more BAME students to participate and engage with the Students’ Union.

The LGBT+ Representative (Mile End) shall represent the interests and be the voice of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans plus students on issues they face. They are also responsible for supporting the Vice President Welfare, liaising with members of the relevant clubs, societies and student groups and encouraging more LGBT+ students to participate and engage with the Students’ Union.
The LGBT+ Representative (Mile End) shall seek feedback and represent the interests and be the voice of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans plus student community on issues they face. They are also responsible for supporting the Vice President Communities, coordinating and convening with the other LGBT+ Representative (Barts and The London) and Trans Representative for LGBT History month and other appropriate campaigns liaising with members of the relevant clubs, societies and student groups and encouraging more LGBT+ students to participate and engage with the Students’ Union.

Trans Representative
The Trans Representative shall seek feedback and represent the interests and be the voice of Trans students on issues they face. They are also responsible for supporting the Vice President Communities, coordinating and convening with the other LGBT+ Representatives (Mile End and Barts and The London), for LGBT History month and other appropriate campaigns liaising with members of the relevant clubs, societies and student groups and encouraging more Trans students to participate and engage.

The School of Geography Representative shall seek feedback from and represent students in the school. They are also responsible for chairing the Geography forum for course representatives and supporting the Vice President Humanities and Social Sciences. They are also responsible for encouraging students in the school to participate and engage with the Students’ Union.

Sustainability Officer (BL)
The Sustainability Officer shall seek feedback and represents the interests of students on issues relating to the environment and sustainability. They will work alongside relevant members of Students’ Union staff, including the President, supporting and developing events, training and campaigns relating to the Students’ Union's sustainability and environmental issues.

Sports Officer (Malta)
For thousands of students, getting involved in club sport is a highlight of their university experience, and the Sports Officer works to make their experience even better. The Sports Officers convene the Club Sport Committee, which means that you will be responsible for approving new clubs and allocating funding (yes, you get to give money away to clubs!).

NUS Delegate (7 places)
There are seven NUS Delegate positions available. If you self define as a woman, please make sure you state this by clicking on 'profile'.
NUS delegates shall attend the NUS Annual Conference to represent Queen Mary students on the national stage. They can join the debate on NUS policy and vote on the direction of the National Union.
It sets policy for the year ahead and elects the President, Vice Presidents and other representatives.

Student Trustee
The Student Trustees are members of the Board of Trustees, which is the body that is responsible for the management, oversight, and administration of the Students’ Union. The Board of Trustees is made up of 6 Officer Trustees, 6 Student Trustees and 6 External Trustees and normally meets 4 times a year. Student Trustees will be responsible of bringing their own experiences of the University and Students’ Union to the board.

Welfare Officer (BL)
The Welfare Representative (BL) shall seek feedback and represent students on welfare, equal opportunity and welfare issues that affect the School of Medicine and Dentistry. They are also responsible for supporting the Vice President Welfare and liaising with members of the relevant clubs, societies and student groups.
**Please note this position is a shared role - the successful candidate will share the role with candidate who was elected previously in the Spring 2022 election.**

The School of Law Representative shall seek feedback from and represent students in the school. They are also responsible for chairing the Law forum for course representatives and supporting the Vice President Humanities and Social Sciences. They are also responsible for encouraging students in the school to participate and engage with the Students’ Union.

The Engagement Officer (Malta) is responsible for increasing engagement with events, activities and services. While elected by the student body, this is not a representative role and does not sit on Student Council.`

Entertainments Officer (Barts and The London)
What would student life be without events and activities? The Entertainments Officers organise BLSA events and liaise with other elected officers and staff to coordinate and promote events and activities to students.
The Entertainments Officers also convene and coordinate the Barts and The London Entertainments Committee. This is a non-representative position and does not sit on Student Council.
