MANIFESTO FOR A PROMOTIONS OFFICER IN TEDDY BEAR HOSPITAL

Dear fellow volunteers,

I am honoured to present my manifesto for the ‘Promotions Officer’ position. With a background in leadership, community engagement and event management, I am committed to ensuring the success and impact of our weekly clinics and drop-ins.

MY VISION FOR THE ROLE

My vision for this role is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where volunteers feel empowered to make a difference in the lives of children. Together, we will acknowledge the diversity of the children we encounter and make certain that our clinics and drop-ins are well-organized, engaging, and impactful. It is essential to reach out to local schools and ensure that each child we engage with successfully takes away the key messages from each station of our clinics, and our volunteers feel accomplished in their efforts.

WHAT WILL I BRING TO THE ROLE

1. Leadership and Event Management

As a former House Captain in school, I successfully organized sports events and led my House to success, demonstrating my ability to manage events and motivate others. Additionally, my experience in organising various events such as primary school visits for dance sessions, annual school dance shows and charity events for ‘Children in Need’, has refined my event manage and problem-solving abilities. I will use this expertise to coordinate our clinic days and manage logistical challenges on site to provide a seamless experience for the volunteers and the schools involved. Furthermore, I will dedicate effort to updating social media platforms to attract more volunteers for our clinics and drop-ins, thus increasing our impact on local community schools.

2. Adaptability and Inclusivity

My experience in Brownies and sixth form dance leadership has taught me the importance of adaptability and inclusivity. I have learned to tailor activities to suit different age groups, accommodate children with various abilities and backgrounds whilst keeping in mind the resources and budget available. During my time with Teddy Bear Hospital, I have further developed these skills, ensuring that all children, despite diverse backgrounds and various abilities, feel comfortable and included in our activities. This adaptability has been crucial in creating a welcoming environment where all children can participate and learn.

As a Promotions Officer, I will ensure that our activities are accessible and engaging for all students by proactively understanding and accommodating any special arrangements needed. I will work closely with schools, teachers, and community organizations to tailor our promotions and events accordingly. Additionally, I will dedicate effort to reaching out to SEN schools, ensuring that our activities meet their specific needs and that they feel included in our initiatives. Through collaboration and feedback, we will continuously improve our outreach efforts to maintain inclusivity and make a positive impact on all students.

3. Teamwork and Communication

Through my years in Girlguiding, I have cultivated strong teamwork skills through collaborating with my peers to plan tasks, confirming our objectives are met. I effectively communicated with the supervisors to establish that the necessary resources were available for our tasks while effectively communicating with the leaders to establish that the necessary resources are available. My participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award has further strengthened my teamwork and communication skills. Working together, we talked our navigation challenges and achieved our goals. Additionally, my experience in school council has honed my ability to guarantee everyone's opinion is heard and considered, fostering an environment of inclusivity and reaching common ground.

In the Promotions Officer role, I will utilise these skills to smoothly organise the clinic and drop-ins. This includes ensuring effective communication with local schools and the Teddy Bear Hospital committee to secure the necessary resources and guarantee inclusivity in outreach efforts in the community.

I am excited about the opportunity to be a Promotions Officer and contribute to the meaningful work of Barts Teddy Bear Hospital. With my leadership experience, adaptability and commitment to inclusivity, I am confident that we can make a significant impact together.

Thank you for considering my nomination, and I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside each of you to make a positive difference in our community primary schools.
