Introduction
Hello! My name is Tracy, and I’m so excited to run for the position of Promotions Officer, having enjoyed being on committee this year as the Allied Health Freshers' Rep. With my varied background in social media, communication skills, and community involvement, I’m committed to making a positive impact in the Teddy Bear Hospital Society.
What I Want to Achieve
- Content Creation: As Promotions Officer, I’ll create eye-catching content that resonates with our student body. From Instagram stories to informative posts, I’ll ensure our messages stand out and reach everyone effectively across all departments, promoting connections from Barts to Queen Mary. I will also be sure to capture photos/videos/feedback to share on our social media platforms to encourage participation.
- Liaising with Local Schools and Hospitals: I’ll collaborate with local schools and hospitals to schedule engaging clinic sessions. These sessions will not only educate but also inspire young minds about healthy living, and allow volunteers to partake in meaningful activities whilst building skills.
- Community Outreach: I’m passionate about community engagement, being a Tower Hamlets resident myself. I will create opportunities for collaboration such as organising local health fairs. I’ll actively liaise with community members, seeking their input and ensuring our initiatives align with their needs.
Why You Should Vote for Me
- Committee Experience: My role as the first-year representative for the TBH society has given me firsthand experience in organising events and communicating with diverse audiences. As a neuroscience student, I will continue to strengthen the bond between Barts and Queen Mary students and advertise our events across different departments.
- Social Media: My experience in social media ranges from an over ten year old YouTube channel with 1000+ subscribers and a recent TikTok account where I post dancing/singing/baking videos. I am aware of the ever changing trends of a digital audience and enjoy the process and aesthetics of content creation. I’ll leverage these platforms to promote our society effectively. Expect engaging posts, live updates, and maybe even a fun challenge or two - straight from a Gen Z source to Gen Z viewers!
- Creative Skills: In sixth form I was responsible for creating promotional materials and communicating with professionals for three separate societies. I am experienced in Canva, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel. I have also organised networking events and am used to working with young children in educational settings. I’m proficient in creating visually appealing content to a range of viewers, from younger students to working professionals. Let’s make our promotions 'unBEARably' fun! Whether it’s a colourful, relatable post or a captivating Instagram story, I’ve got it covered.
